Christopher Kenneth Black, Age 28, passed away on Sunday, March 24th 2013 at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, California.
He was born in Denville and grew up in Parsippany before moving to San Diego in 2008.
In 2003, Christopher enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in South Korea, Iraq and Hawaii. He served during Operation Freedom before being honorably discharged in 2008 with the rank of Sergeant in Military Intelligence.
Christopher was a Target Intelligence Officer for General Atomics, ASI (Reconnaissance Systems Group) in San Diego, CA since July of 2009. He was deployed by General Atomics to Iraq three times and just recently returned from his second deployment in Afghanistan.
Survivors include his parents: Charles K. and Wendy (nee-Hepworth); his sister, Kimberly; his maternal grandmother, Marion Hepworth; and his many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 3:30p.m. on Saturday, March 30th 2013 at the Funeral Home. Cremation: Private. Visiting Hours are on Saturday from 12 Noon – 4:00p.m. at the funeral home.
